It's been quite some time since an update has found its way to this page. Between life and project delays, there hasn't been much time or content... UNTIL NOW!
What you're looking at is the beginnings of the Wormhole Scoop assemblies that will be used in "Mission: Space Cadet"!
This assembly was something that bothered me since early in this project lifespan. At first, I came to the conclusion that the Wormholes weren't going to work as they did in the software version. That was until I was struck by a moment of inspiration! I scribbled down my idea, talked it over with some friends, and began these preliminary designs.
While there have been minor revisions, the concept remains the same. Depending on the game state, a pinball moving into the scoop from the playfield would either be directed straight down onto a VUK (vertical up-kicker) and returned to the playfield; or diverted to a holding area, with a held ball being released from one of the other 2 assemblies, and returned to the playfield. As needed, all three of the assemblies would be "reloaded" by automatically launching pinballs into a pre-determined area (think the Gumball Machine on Twilight Zone, for those familiar with that pinball machine).
Progress is moving slowly forward, as the matter of making this all happen financially is still a hurdle to be jumped from time to time, but "Mission: Space Cadet" moves ever-forward.
Until next time, keep on flipping, Cadets!
